이다 

It is a connective verb, attached to a noun to express the identity or state of that noun.

입니다 is the formal form of 이다.

김선호입니다.

책입니다.

의자입니다.

학생입니다.

입니까? is the formal interrogative form of 입니다.

책입니까?

의자입니까?

학생입니까?

예요/이에요 are the informal polite forms of 이다.

When a noun ends in a vowel, 예요 is attached and when it ends in a consonant, 이에요 is attached.

책이에요.

의자예요.

학생이에요?

가수예요?
